This mural painting was made during the artists 5-months residency in Warsaw, Poland. While creating it, she was living for a whole months in the gallery LOKAL 30, which is situated inside an old building right in the city center. It is one of the very rare ones that were not destroyed in World War II and it has a fantastic charisma.
The walls of entire space were covered with ink, alltogether two rooms of 430 square feet (40m2). Then the drawings were applied with ink eraser. The motives were inspired from personal impressions of the city, interlacing real facts with fictional references. For instance, the Palak Kultury can be discovered right next to the Hotel Polonia, other buildings can be identified as well-known or largely unknown objects from the city center. In addition to that, the walls are covered with all kinds of names, some of them being associated with fictional stories or historical female figures, possibly artists.
This technique of ink and ink eraser has a magic touch and as the color fades relatively quickly, it even assumes a temporal dimension. This is also given by the color and surface structure: a little bit like wallpaper, they recall the inside walls during the communist regime, when this certain kind of grey-blue was institutionalized as the standard color for uniform house design.
The largescale mural painting conveys a kind of cartography of the artists time in Poland. Likewise, the beholders are invited to associate and discover individual stories and personal memories in it.

« Le Théâtre d’ombres et la peinture qui disparaît… »
« Lorsqu’on entre dans l’immeuble de la rue Foksal, on se retrouve dans une maison aux vieux escaliers datant de l’avant-guerre, une vraie rareté à Varsovie! Ensuite, on passe la porte de l’appartement no 30 et l’on se retrouve soudain dans un espace quasiment vide : Est-ce encore une blague artistique ?... Est-ce encore une exposition qui n’existe pas ?!
On a une telle impression parce que Manon Bellet n’a pas utilisé de la peinture traditionnelle, mais de l’encre bleue ; du stylo effaceur et de la craie. L’effet est tel que sur les murs on voit les formes blanches, courbées, souples qui évoquent des formes fantastiques qui nous font penser aux bâtiments bien connu de Varsovie tel que « l’hôtel Polonia », « le Palais de la Culture » et bien d’autres…
[] Mais la chose la plus touchante dans Warszawa for ever, ce sont les deux dias projetées sur la surface des murs. On y découvre des contours de femme, -certainement ceux de l’auteure- quasi invisibles durant le jour, plus concrets la nuit. Ces lignes sont encore enrichies par les ombres des visiteurs qui glissent sur la peinture… une fantasmagorie de la présence qui rappelle le théâtre d’ombres chinoises…
[] Ses peintures murales sont très discrètes, pas trop zélées, très bien intégrées avec l’entourage. Elles mènent une sorte de jeu continu avec la lumière et l’espace… »
