Sun Fast / The eyes of the black sea into the distance, 2014-15

Slide projection on black canvas, 80 x 100cm.

Sun Fast and The eyes of the black sea into the distance are two different installations of slide projection on black canvas. The projected slides are the actual ends of an analog roll of film containing burnt glue residues.

A golden image is projected onto a black canvas. Since the projection is extremely sensitive to the light in the room, we perceive the illusion of a painting, constantly transforming.

The physical presence of the beholder is literally involved as an additional medium: approaching the canvas we cross the beam of the projector so that ou shadow fuses with the painting and literally becomes part of the work.
