Confort Thermique / Impression Radiante, 2013-15

Thermal print on thermal paper, Dimensions: 3.3 x 11m, 4 x 2.9m, and 4.4 x 2.8m

These paper installations are created with thermal paper and portable heaters. This "wallpaper" contains thermal paper rolls, which contain the residue of removed tape adhesive along its surface. When heat is applied to the surface, the paper rolls react to the portable heat sources and are gradually darkened through this heat.

This technique gives the illusion that the paper seems burned or painted with black ink or charcoal, but it is simply the thermal reaction to the paper.
